TravelHaven News Brief – More Airline Fees
The airlines are at it again! Here’s the latest on who’s charging what fees:
Change Fees
United, Continental, and US Airways have all increased their fees to change your reservations to $150 for flights between the United States (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America. The fee is $250 for transatlantic/transpacific flights originating from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean or Latin America.
Extra Bag Fee
All the major air carriers are now charging $25 for a second checked bag for coach passengers. Some airlines do not charge this fee to their elite frequent flyer levels, those who have purchased full-fare tickets in Economy, Business and First Class, and those flying international except to/from Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
