St. Kitts and Nevis – Little-known Gems

These Caribbean islands may not be as well known as others in the area, but there is plenty to recommend them as your holiday destination, including volcanic mountains, rain forests and pristine, empty beaches. While they have much in common, the islands also have their distinct differences. Located approximately 200 miles southeast of Puerto Rico, the islands are connected by a 45-minute ferry ride.

What’s the most desired place to visit?

A Reuters survey of more than 5,500 people world-wide (commissioned by Visa and a travel industry group) found that nearly half picked Australia as their most coveted destination. The survey also showed that the economic downturn had a majority of the people reconsidering their vacation plans. "While the global economic situation will impact tourism, it is unlikely to bring travel to a standstill. What our survey has shown is that travelers will be more creative in their selection of destinations," said Meranda Chan, a Visa spokesperson.

Pebble Beach is for… Hikers?

Of course, California’s Pebble Beach is world-renowned for its golf courses. But the area actually features more forest land full of hiking trails than fairways. Trails through the Del Monte Forest follow the Pacific shoreline and overlook golf courses, tony resorts and exclusive homes. Hikers are treated to breathtaking views as well as an array of trees, plants and other flora.
